Before anyone comments, I know this is a Chrome forum, but before now we have ventured into the world of Chromium and I personally think it is only right that, as a forum, we explore all issues relating to Chrome (and its derivatives) to provide an all round appreciation of our favourite browser without detracting from our main purpose...
As most of you will be aware, if you read this forum often enough, I recently did a post on choosing a product to be my ‘Perfect Portable Chrome’, ChromePlus and SunChrome were the major contenders...
At the time (only 10 days ago believe it or not !!) I chose Sunchrome over ChromePlus for a couple of reasons ...
Perfect Portable Chrome - StevePaul's Quest,
However in the space of 10 days ChromePlus (CP) has had 2 releases (one on the day I posted my original review – wouldn’t you just know it !!)
I was originally going to do a full comparison between ChromePlus and SunChrome and post my findings here, however with the latest release of ChromePlus (1.2.5.0) it is in my opinion far ahead of its rival in every department and a comparison isn't necessary ...
I recommend you go take a look at ChromePlus and see what Google should be striving to achieve with Chrome in the near future ...

ChromePlus 1.2.5.0 (Download - Zip or Installer) http://www.chromeplus.org/download.html
It installs totally standalone after going through its installation procedure (the same as installing Chrome and Chromium with the same options for importing data etc.)
If you want it portable you can either install it on a USB or simply copy your entire installation to a USB ...
These are the features that impressed me ...
The customisation of CP is all done through an additional tab on the Tools menu (ChromePlus Options)
Because it’s based on 4.0.206.0, extensions are there by default and they’ve also included bookmark syncing by default as well ...
You can customise your mouse gestures (including drag ’n drop), 17 gestures with 42 options (enough for most people I would have thought) and a double click close tab option (if you’ve got no middle mouse button, don’t want to use one of your gestures or have a Mac) ...
Doesn't it just p*** you off when you're just about to enter some data into a page and it says you need IE6 or above ...
IE Mode is a treat, you can use a gesture (you define), use the option on the Page menu or (and I think this is so good) click on the CP Icon in the Omnibox and this will open your current page in IE Mode in a new tab (clicking on the IE icon opens a new tab in CP mode)...
If you have any Download Management software installed (FDM, Orbit) it will show in the right click context menu ...
Added to this you have the option to define which websites you want to open in IE Mode and add their URL to a managed list (I found this extremely useful when the dev 206 version wouldn’t let me post on the Google Chrome Help Forum) ...
You can configure how Chrome starts up, which ranges from how the Tabs are processed (Single process, process per tab, process per site) to what you want enabled or disabled and in addition which folders to use for your cache and user scripts...
There’s also the option to use a Proxy server (if you’re clever enough) for ad blocking...
The one that most people seem to have been looking for ‘Privacy Plus’ allows you to delete your history and cookies and more importantly (if you feel that way inclined) your thumbnails and visited links on the NewTab page (wahahahaha) on exit ...
You can also configure what action to take when you have only one tab left open and you decide to close it ...
Last, but not least, you can configure it to auto update (I know this works, that’s how I got to know there was a new version !!)
Enjoy ;-)
