Thanks D0od!
If anyone can lead me to the standalone installer (it's not yet on softpedia), then that would be sweeet.
Chrome crashed after the update and all the extensions went for a holiday :-)
will try to re-install all the extensions
EDIT
all of a sudden, the extensions cut short their holidays and now they are back
I wonder what happened ?
After installing the Chrome update, close and open Chrome twice

BUG=20573
TEST=Install sample extensions without modifying command line flags. They should install (and run on next startup).

Thanks for the info.
I think it would be useful to all who read these posts if the reader knew if the references were to Google Chrome or Chromium.
For a while I was playing with both and now, just out of curiosity, have reinstalled Chromium. Yes, Chromium 4.0.204.0, the release I installed, does seem to activate extensions if present. (As for User Scripts, I cannot yet say.) Some Chrome extensions work; some - like Bubble Translate, or Sync Bookmarks, may not) and with a little bit of luck a soon-forthcoming "Google Chrome" release will start to handle extensions without the need for command line options.
It is SO NICE not to have to wait 30+ (on a good day) seconds for Firefox to start.))
