LOL you're expecting spelling suggestions in a non-editable field? No wonder.

    What?!
Why are you backtracking now, saying "like Firefox" and "right click" was not clear enough?

And WTH are you talking about anyway?

Firefox doesn't even give spelling suggestions for page content.
Anyway if you're just gonna accuse me of being in the wrong rather than gratefully accepting my help I'll just leave you in the dust.
    Enjoy your king, the Firefox.

Hey Guys (and Gals) all has now become plain ...

Looking at the screenshot on the Babes latest post he only has the Stable version installed ...

Now if he'd bothered to tell us this at the outset we could have put him right ...

I really love it when someone has a 'blast' at Chrome without knowing all the facts ...

If he'd bothered to ask whether this functionality was available in Chrome instead of having a 'blast' we could have put him right ...

Now, I dare say he'll suggest that this functionality should have been available from the outset (I agree in certain instances) but unfortunately that is not the case ...

Lets face it, comparing (as we know) Chrome to FF is in real terms unfair as FF has 'matured' over the last 5+ years (November 2004 v1) ...

I think what this thread has achieved (if nothing else) is that us true 'Chromies' will defend our favourite browser to the hilt and that we do not 'suffer fools gladly'...

I am not disputing 'Xol's' right to criticise, however I do condemn his attitude without first gathering all the facts ...

I have had a similar experience on another forum where a 'discussion' ensued about the use of Proxy servers (or not) in Chrome, where one OP even had the audacity to question whether another user should ask what a Proxy server was !!

Forums are there for all to use and are a great source of information, however if you are going to 'air your differences' at least be aware of what you are saying (and it's implications) and check your facts ...

Whether FF is better than Chrome only time will tell ...

The one thing I do know is that Chrome is the one for me (I use it on Vista and Ubuntu) and will remain so for a long time to come...

    @StevePaul: even the Stable version has a spell-checker !!!
But Waha is right, in his example XOL is doing a spell-check on a non-editable field, this is a bit stupid of course...
And it is even more stupid to call the people who want to help liars

    Extract of Chrome's Help: http://www.google.com/support/chrome...n&answer=95604

Do you type too fast? Google Chrome has a built-in spell-checker to automatically check what you're typing into web forms and text fields. Go to the "Fonts and Languages" dialog to adjust spell-checker settings. Follow these steps (for Windows):

    Click the Tools menu.
    Select Options.
Click the Under the Hood tab.
Click Change font and language settings .
    Click the Languages tab.
Select the "Check spelling" checkbox if you want Google Chrome to automatically check your spelling.
Select the language you want to use in the "Spell-checker language" drop-down menu.
Click OK to save your settings.
Add a new word to the dictionary

If the spell-checker keeps underlining a word that you often use, right-click the word and select Add to dictionary. At this time, it's not possible to remove a word from the dictionary.

    Temporarily turn off the spell-checker

You can also temporarily disable the spell-checker for the field you're typing in. Follow these steps:

    Right-click the text field.
    Select Spell-checker options.
Deselect "Check the spelling of this field."
If you regularly use the Web in multiple languages, you can easily switch between different language dictionaries as you type.

I never understood the whole "Goodbye to this and That Browser" Threads. I have seen these in other web browser forums as well. I am not sure what they are expecting. Maybe a OH PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE Dont leave us ??

In the end Use whatever browser works best for you. Used Opera a Long time, Found the latest version is not to my liking, Found Google works fine for now. And in the future I may switch to firefox. Who Knows Who Cares??

I do not feel the need to make a thread or announce to the world I have stoped using one browser.

If your having problems with the browser or not sure about something, Just ask.
Users will help you figure it out. If its still not to your liking, then move on to the next browser. They are all free. Best of luck. Sorry for the Rant. Have a nice day.

I have used almost all browsers and I think everyone has it's own advantage and disadvantage. Google chrome is really fastest amongst others but it crashes more. Personally I like firefox as it has got more choices of add-ons.
