As an SEO i have nothing to do with google chrome because i cant even install google toolbars in it... but i think for general browsing google chrome is very good.

No help has been provided by google on this issue so far, Do you use google desktop also, if yes, then un install it. I absorbed that chrome does not work properly after google desktop is installed and running.

I cant get chrome to open at all the past few days unless I restart my computer...and when I do restart it says Chrome wasnt shut down properly...however it wasnt open. I have safari and firefox on my mac but would prefer to use Chrome...just need it to open.

I had this same issue. All other browser worked and Google Chrome did not. Google Chrome is my default browser. I picked up some sort of virus. I used Kasperky's TDSS Killer. It was simple, easy and quick. I also use spybot. Spybot did not pick this issue up. So, if your Google chrome bowser become totally unresponsive, it would be worth the effort to try the "Kasperky's TDSS Killer":
