I have now starred it, thanks!
Weird, I has same thing as that other Guy. It says "Stable" when I have the Dev Version.
But I use Windows 7.
@pumpman and MadDogTen, for the About box showing "stable" even for Dev channel, see if you can find any helpful info at: http://crbug.com/31759
@pumpman, MadDogTen, and pjfla, do any of you have any of the following registry keys and especially are they empty?
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Google\Update\Clients\{8A69D345-D564-463c-AFF1-A69D9E530F96}
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Google\Update\ClientState\{8A69D345-D564-463c-AFF1-A69D9E530F96}
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Google\Update\ClientStateMedium\{8A69D345-D564-463c-AFF1-A69D9E530F96}
See also http://crbug.com/31759 and http://crbug.com/31573
I have all of those keys. The first is empty. The second has name: ap value 2.0-dev. The third has name usagestats: value 0x00000000
I also have some other keys under Clients, Client State and Client State Medium. Some include, among other stuff, names pv value 1.2.183.13 - sounds like some really old version of Chrome or maybe something is in there from other variants of Chrome that in the past (not now) I have used.
(All this on XP Pro SP2)
Not sure what all the concern is about ...
Surely if it says 4.0.288.1 you're on the Dev channel ...
I now have this. Problem is there is no jumplistIts shows the normal Google Chrome,Unpin/Pin and Close Window now
