    It tried my FTP site and it so slow just to display the site... (to be continued I guess)

    What I also found is an extra menu option in the "Clear Browsing Data" option: Clear Local Storage

    I am not to sure what this does so I did not try it...

    Clear Local Storage behaves like I thought...
    It clears all the saved options from your extensions...
    After re-configuring you can start with a clean sheet.

    Chrome is getting worser.

    I'm still experiencing lots of page's crashes here (with that marine blue background and an icon).

    Some Firefox user told me it was related to the flash player version... So I did update it, and still same crashes :/

    And now also my browser actions are all gone (the icons dissapeared!).

    I'm really getting dissapointed... Almost every browser session I do, there is at least one crash at some point.

    I think the profile is corrupted

    Windows troubleshooting: Create a new browser user profile

    If your browser user profile is corrupted, you can create a new user profile to replace the broken one:

    1. Exit Google Chrome completely.

    2. Locate the User Data folder by going to the Start menu > Run. Enter one of the following directories in the text field, then press OK.

    • Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\
    • Windows Vista: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\

    3. Rename folder as 'Backup User Data.'

    You should now be able to open Google Chrome normally. A new 'User Data' folder is automatically created as you start using the browser. If you want to transfer your old browser history and bookmarks into your new user profile, copy the relevant files from the 'Backup User Data' folder to your new 'User Data' folder.

    @NicholasPufal: not so in my case...
    I haven't had any crash since this morning when I upgraded...
    The version before this one was very stable also, crashes are very rare...
    Did you remove the Google Translate extension (if you have it installed) because this one is causing pain...

    I did clean profile. Still the browser actions icons where invisible.

    had to remove all extensions and re-install each.

    Dunno if pages are still crashing. Need to make some extensive tests.

    Was doing a comparisson now:

    Firefox 3.6 takes up to 17 seconds to startup!! (after reboot my PC and no extensions installed)

    Chrome takes only 4... With 5 extensions installed.

    Incredible. Firefox is so damn slow.

    Too bad these crashes are happening.

    @NicholasPufal

    I was having problems in starting up Firefox and had to resort to starting it in safe mode;
    disabled most of the extensions and now it is fine;
    use the 3 finger salute to see how much resources Firefox is using;
    previously with all the extensions loaded, it shows 130,000K :-(
