Chrome has given the Middle Mouse Button (MMB) enormous power.
Clicking on one of the following items opens with the MMB it in a new tab:
    - any link (the new tab duplicates the current tab with history of the current tab)
    - a bookmark
    - a folder of bookmarks (opens ALL the bookmarks, each in a new tab)
    - home button
    - back button
    - forward button
    - arrow button (the one at the end of the address bar)

Clicking a tab with the MMB closes the tab.
Want to know how many bookmarks you've accumulated (not including the ones in your bookmarks bar)? MMB click "Other bookmarks".

if you just middle mouse click on a link it'll open in new tab, that's universal across all browsers.

Anyone who has set tab options in FireFox using TabMix Plus will instantly understand why it's a shame that a similar extension is not available for Chrome. It allows you to reload tabs automatically, prevents the closing of tabs, forces links to open in new tabs or windows if desired, highlights the current tab,or unread tabs as desired, adds choices for mouse gestures and much, much more. No current Chrome extension comes close to this kind of functionality, and the bland suggestions here are not really useful.
