Default new tab with single click

I use tabmix plus with Firefox. It enables me to have a new tab open when I -click on a bookmark, click on a links bar url, do a search.

I don't have to manually open a new tab, *then* do what I need to do.

Is there a way to get that functionality in chrome?

Following on from the previous posts ....

Simply clicking on a link (in a post like this) will automatically open a new tab (as current)

Probably the easiest thing to do is simply right mouse click on the link (Url, Bookmark etc)

That will give you a whole host of options ...

BTW @Kyrax the only problem with Ctrl and click is that the Tab doesn't become the current tab ....

I appreciate all the answers, but there apparently is not a way to get the click to tab functionality I have in Firefox in Chrome.

I *don't* press some ctrl-shift, or any key combo and click. All I need to is click and presto, it opens in a new tab. I've gotten used to it doing that, just was wondering if that could be done in Chrome. However, there are some cool things that chrome does that FF doesn't do, I like the "most visited" new tab dealie...:-)

I'm sure someone can easily create a bookmarklet that can have that functionality...
