Exclamation Stable Channel Gets Extension Support & Bookmark Syncing

As of today the Stable channel gets Extension and Bookmark syncing support ...

    Call it Version 4 !!

The Stable channel has been updated to 4.0.249.78 for Windows, and includes the following features and security fixes (since 3.0):

    Extensions
    Bookmark sync
    Enhanced developer tools
HTML5: Notifications, Web Database, Local Storage, WebSockets, Ruby support
    v8 performance improvements
    Skia performance improvements
Full ACID3 pass, due to re-enabled remote font support (with added defense against bugs in operating system font libraries)
    HTTP byte range support

    Info ...

One of the big drawbacks for people wanting to move to Chrome from FF (so FF users say) has always been the lack of extensions and Ad Blocking ...

Now there are no excuses ...

There are currently 1800+ extensions on the Chrome Gallery https://chrome.google.com/extensions with quite a few Ad Blockers ....

Will be interesting to see what kind of take up Chrome has now

That is great and I wanted to post exactely the same news...
What is a shame is that at the same time Chromeplugings is the slowest and least available site/forum that I have in my favorites.

    @Luc

They choose the the day of the biggest announcement about Chrome since the day of it's release to be absolutely c*** ...

Now that it's gone to version 4 I'm seriously thinking of reverting back to the Stable version ...

    It is indeed ...

The fact that it now supports extensions and bookmark syncing make it well worthwhile ditching the Beta and Dev channels ...

    Yeah ...

But I guess they'll move the Beta up a notch or two in the not too distant future ...

At least the Stable version can compete on an equal footing with FF now ...

@Sulasno: Whatever the reason, we have the fastest browser but the slowest SIG forum

    A bit ridiculous, isn't it?
