Whenever I click on a link in Chrome it directs to me that page right away. Is there a way to change the setting so that when I click on an image or link that would open in a new window, it leaves me at the page I am currently on and not open the new tab automatically. Thank and hopefully that didn't sound to confusing.

You can open a link in a new Tab by right clicking on the desired link and then selecting the first option of the menu, "Open Link in a New Tab".

true, put if I'm opening a number of images or clicking on direct links to websites it becomes a pretty big hassle(especially on a laptop) constantly right clicking and selecting the new tab button.
