Hi! I am developing web based geographic information systems (GIS). A very crucial issue in this regard is that today's browsers still seem to struggle with:
- fast SVG rendering
- large amounts of geospatial vector data (JSON)
I know that there is heavy work in progress on enhancing the javascript engines and Chrome is at present far ahead of other browsers on javascript and WAY better on SVG rendering. Still, even Chrome crashes if I load a geojson file of more than 3-4 mb into my GIS application.
Currently, I am writing my master thesis on GIS and I would really like qualified personnel to answer this question:
Will Google focus on enhancing the SVG rendering during the next year of development? I know javascript is always a priority.
