Perhaps I'm incorrect because I'm a bit new to this, but I don't believe you can change the actual graphics any longer with the new CRX styled themes. I could throw together something really similar for you, but the tabs and modified buttons can't be duplicated in CRX to my knowledge.

Well if you think you could in any way make the buttons, lemme know, I have the image files.

I'll research around and see what I can come up with. When I finish the theme I'm currently working on (nearly done) I'll start on a theme similar to Chromium for you.

You can still change the images in the dll, the dll just changed names and a few of the images changed making old themes not work %100 (I did it not to long ago and got Stamgas Aero theme working again, it was fun applying crx themes on top of it ).
But its the old problem of your going to have to update it every time chrome updates

Well maybe you'd be kind enough to tell a newb how to update it for newer versions

Basically you extract all the images from the dll, change them and put them back.
What I was doing was downloading all the images from here....
http://src.chromium.org/svn/trunk/src/chrome/app/theme/
....then I named all my images the same as those.
Then I made a script that looked at the images from the dll, matched them with the ones downloaded from the link to find what files went where and then put my images in place of those ones in the dll with another script.
One day Ill look at this again, Ive got other things on my mind at the moment.

Still kinda confusing, I think I'll leave it up to the experts unless someone does a step by step tutorial showing what to do.

Ahh, so Chrome just changed everything again.... I guess that saves me a little work. You might as well wait for Chrome to stop changing the dll. I can make a CRX version of it, but most of the changes from what I can see are actual graphic changes that can't be done with crx.

Well that's a shame, that's like the only theme I can stand to look at for a long period of time, the others are just so flat looking.
