not sure what you mean by multiple backgrounds but there's no reason you couldn't do that with a single image .

I think p.fil means combine multiple background images all into one single image.

I don't think Chrome supports multiple different background images at the same time.

If combined into one single image, I couldn't give them different properties as to repeat different. ><
