Well I didnt know ;P
Thanks for sharing brianzion
I've started using Greeprint for this. It also allows you to create a PDF, decide to only print certain pages by excluding them during the print preview.
I can also automatically give you suggestions for removing pages.
It is pretty helpful but a little buggy sometimes.
There is a free version and it is available via download.com or www.printgreener.com
Hope this helps.
Normally we work on building print preview functionality into Chrome which currently scheduled for Google Chrome Version 6, which will be out later this year, though be aware that the schedule may change.
I agree that there needs to be a 'Print Preview' function in Chrome. As a workaround I have been printing to a .pdf format and then previewing the document there before printing.
Well done, Steve. Could you please post this great tip on the Google Chrome Help Forum if you haven't already done so?
An alternative is to print to a PDF printer driver and preview by viewing the PDF created.
okay guys, we are going to get this feature on chrome version 8. Print Preview on Google Chrome.
I've been using a printer driver called "dopdf v7" for a few weeks now and am very pleased with the results. It was a free download and installed very easily (on XP in my case). There's a side benefit: All those web pages you "Print for you records" I now print to pdf. For my purposes it's much simpler than "saving" the web page.
When you save a web page, you can end up with files and folders and links to graphics on the page that won't display when you are offline. All I am usually looking for is a human readable image and the pdf is perfect.
A link would be helpful ...
