    Default HTML Home

    Hello Everyone,
I have an idea and I want to see what you think. So since everybody is tired of the new tab page. I thought maybe I can make my own.

So here's what you do using a html making program (in my case OpenOffice and it's free) you make a html page that has all your links, customize and make it instead of blank or most visited. I'm also making a html document that I will make my startup page and it will have not only have online links but my computer links as well. And of course you can cuztomize it as much as you want because it's your own saved on your computer. The thing is you can bookmark a html document with stuff on it or links (making everything easy to reach) Well now I want to see what you people think about this.

Isn't this what your StartUp pages and Bookmarks bar is all about and surely you use your Quick Launch bar for your computer links ...

Stamga posted here a couple of days ago about an alternative 'New Tab' page ...

It's called Safari Dial, check it out ...

Does the Most Visited (New Tab) annoy you - Read on

If you also go to www.adsweep.com there's a bit of Javascript (at the bottom of the page) that gives you a blank page when you use the 'New Tab' instead of the 'Most Visited' page ...

The combination of both these features is pretty cool :-D ...

One added thing about Safari Dial, you don't need to use the mouse ...

1 - 9 will select the tab you want ...

    Enjoy :-)

No, I don't.. But you can just leave them blank so people can't access your favorite sites.

    Yeah, guess you're right ....

Have to say it's a neater way of opening your favourites than mine ...

Although I have them as my favourites there are a couple of sites that I don't necessarily visit each day (although it is handy to have the tab open just 'in case') but it always seemed such a waste of tab space.

This way I just open them when I want ....

I've taken the liberty of posting details of all the Dial sites (you supplied) on the Chrome help site, as you know ('cos you posted there !!) there was quite a thread going on 'Most Visited' and blank page ....

    Hope you don't mind :-D

Glad your OK with it ...

    Spread the word :-D

    Silly aside using SD

Very, very occassionally I still use IE8 so I thought why not use SD as my Homepage there.

Really cool means I haven't got to worry about syncing my favourites :-D

Last, but not least, just been talkin to the Guys at SD (via Email) there isn't any way of deleting or Unsubscribing.

The solution is to blank out all the URLs except one (you have to have one), use something like the Google Home page ...

    As always enjoy :-)
