Thanks mg2, but I want the genuine Chrome, not a tweaked one...
How could I easily keep two computer in sync for my extensions?
Even if it involves some manual copying...
Any ideas?
What I used to do before the the new API came along was just take a copy of the Extensions folder and Preferences file in the User Data > Default library...
(You also get your crx themes) ...
I'm guessing now you would also need the Local Storage folder ...
I haven't tried this as the kids have got my spare laptop, but I think it should work![]()

@Luc
Just come across this article on 'How to Geek' ...
Synchronize Folders Between Computers and Drives with SyncToy 2.1
This is a free tool from Microsoft that was once part of the XP Power Toys but has continued to grow and improve (Apparently).
This is the link http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/7604/...h-synctoy-2.1/
This is the download page on Microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
Hope it does what you want![]()

Hey Thanks SP I actually use Synctoy 2.1 a lot for data sync purposes...
I am just not sure as to which folders I need to copy?
just wondering whether the extensions would work simply by syncing the Extensions folder
@Sul
No, when I was looking @ Portable Chrome versions I found that the Preferences file is integral to how Extensions work, it contains a lot of the extensions settings (open it using something like Notepad and you'll see)...
Now there is the Extension API the Local Storage folder is where the Developers put the customisation element of the extension ...
@Luc
Looking at the article (haven't tried it out yet) and as you use it you know better than me ...
I think the files/folders you need to 'sync' are the Extensions folder, Local Storage folder and the Preferences file ...
PS
Would have responded earlier, but for some reason this site gets totally unresponsive about 16:30 GMT every day![]()
@SP
I sync my extensions from Chromium to Dev and (portable) Beta Chrome;
extensions in the Dev Chrome are the same as those in Chromium
but Beta Chrome is not registering the extensions
edit
think I will try and sync the Local Storage folder to Beta Chrome
