    Default Script blocking?

Is there some way to block java scripting in Chrome like Firefox's NoScript addon? I've become used to blocking things like this, and switching to Chrome has become rather bothersome.

I do know the most vulnerable aspect of any browser is the javascript aspect. There are some sites that need the scripting, but I'd like to block the advertisers' scripting for both security concerns and for some of the most bothersome scripting. (intellitext advertising? I hate it and want it gone.) This is the biggest thing keeping me from switching to Chrome permanently, and what keeps me from IE8.

Is this built into the browser or an addon somewhere?

    Tools menu (Wrench) ...

Options > Under the Bonnet > Content settings

There is a tab for JavaScript where you can either allow or disallow JS to run, it also allows you to provide exceptions to your choice ...

Under content settings you can also configure Cookies, Images, Plug-Ins and Pop-ups ...

If I remember right there's also an extension on the extensions gallery to do with NoScript ...

I just had to register after seeing this,

Did you even read his question Mr. Smartass? =/

when you say this, i doubt you even know NoScript then, and i found this quite offensive to the questioner, as if "Everyone" should go around knowing this, and make him look like a tard.

there is no extension like noscript on the gallery, or has anything to do with noscript, atleast not by using the search button. Sorry.

At last, none of the answers were to any help, im not saying this to offend you in any way, just reminding you that they actually didn't help.

This is the way by which you can do: First you need to Add –disable-javascript to the target of your Chrome shortcut

    C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --disable-javascript

You have to put space after the chrome.exe It is very important

Maybe in another post StevePaul offended you when he got frustrated or something, but in this thread he was nothing but helpful (as he so often is).
Your post does nothing but make you look foolish and waste our time including your own, I cant believe you actually registered just to post that.
Please in the future either post in an appropriate thread or talk to your doctor about your warped perception.

Thanks for the support PAEz ...

I know there's been the occasional post when I've been a 'bit short' with my comments but the response to this one really touched a nerve ...

Must stop reading the forum late at night !!

Don't take it personal, but I'm guessing you're between 12 and 16 years old. Am I close?

Well, i confess that calling him a "Smartass" was abit overboard, and which i do apologize for. For someone who is a complete stranger like me to appear out of the blue might seem abit offensive, but i really did not try to cause any ruckus of sort.

You were both half right, i was angry cause of the comments of his earlier threads which i read.

To the point: I have been a user of NoScript for long, and this answer is not exactly it because that would make it block the whole page, and i don't think anyone who surfs randomly on the net wants to keep adding exceptions to every site he visits the HARD way.

Paez, i will post more appropriate posts just riiight after this..

    @heyyou

Not taking it personal, and you must be somewhere nearby that age since you are asking i presume? or maybe less since you failed in trying to act mature all of a sudden.

One can appreciate your moderation and maintaining civility. But, as a Firefox user I came here looking for the same type of NoScript. function in Chrome
    I learnt

    a) Chrome does not provide it and none that exists - I searched as suggested.
    b) His answer has wasted my time and put me into believing that such a solution existed

He may be a helpful creature and one thanks him for that - but providing incorrect information and mentioning that so assuredly wastes others time and is really disservice. He may get a chuckle out of it by sending others [those who do not protest on such behavior] in a wild goose search - or worse put them in trouble.

I am not being harsh. Though this post is an older post it is still inflicting the same harmful effect
