Default USER CONTROL over mouse click events?

It seems like this has been asked a lot. It's very simple - I just want to be able to LEFT click on a bookmark and/or link and have the page open in a new tab! Everyone always seems to answer: "Just use the middle click", well, simply put, we shouldn't have to!!

Since I've been using Firefox for a very long time, I'm extremely used to simply clicking the left mouse button on a link or bookmark and having it take me to a new tab automatically, thanks to FF's brilliant plugins (even though they should be options integrated into FF in the first place).

It seems like an absolute no-brainer to add such customization options into chrome as well, to allow users to choose what action each mouse button performs. A plugin like Tab Mix Plus for Firefox would be perfect. This lack of functionality alone is really keeping me from using chrome as my default browser. TMP has ALWAYS been the first plugin I've added whenever I've gotten a new laptop, or installed a new O/S. I probably wouldn't even use FF without it.
The only reason why I tried chrome in the first place is because FF has been really buggy lately, especially with Yahoo mail... but after using it for a little while, I like Chrome now, and very importantly it works perfectly no matter what sites I go to (so far)...

It's really a shame, and it's mind boggling to me that Google would make a browser and not add in these intuitive features by default. A multi-billion dollar company, and they don't have a small team to test out their browser for functionality and intuitive options??? I mean, at the VERY least, it doesn't hurt to HAVE the options available, even if you think many users might not use them - with millions and millions of users, even if a small percent wants these options, that's still a LOT of people..

The following options should be added:

    - Control over what each mouse button does.

i.e. Left or right click opens bookmark/links/favorite in new tab
or user can simply leave middle click as default if they so wish.

    - Control over double-clicking

i.e. Left or right double-click on a tab closes it.
Left or right double-click near the tab bar opens a new tab
Right double-click on a tab duplicates it.

And quite a few other options unrelated to tabs...

Is there a Google "suggestion box" I could email this to??? Thanks a lot...

    Question

lol!! Why the extra step to drag??!!?? Is it SO hard to get a plugin to left click and open in a new tab?

I'm giving up on Chrome for now until they get their act together... they can't even release a simple set of plugins to control/customize tabs/links/bookmarks/etc... that should have been in version ONE by default.

I'll go back to FF and just deal with the bugs for now!
