    Default Working great until...

Hello, I am a proud Google Chrome user and I have been for the past year. I have no problems until now. I installed the new Zune program (which is uninstalled now) because I purchased a Zune HD. It required a restart, which I did, and since that, Chrome has not worked properly. The actual client loads up, but no web page loads, the main screen doesn't load, not even the downloads page loads! It just gives the busy symbol. After many unsuccessful re installs, clearing of browsing history, and restarts, I am left stumped.

On FireFox now, please get me out!
    Thanks in advance.
Also I'm on XP running the latest version of Chrome. Everything is updated (SP3 included) so don't ask that.

First, I would not reinstall Chrome, but uninstall it, and then install a fresh version.

If that does not work, try adding the "--no-sandbox" flag to your command in a shortcut.
Do you have any firewall or antivirus that might conflict ? It could be a firewall issue..

just wondering whether uninstalling Chrome would remove all the Chrome folders as well?

The normal windows uninstaller tends to leave fragments of the installation behind ...

I use a product called Revo Unistaller which not only uses the applications own uninstaller but also has its own processes for looking at the registry and system to find, and offer the option to delete, left over registry entries, files and folders ...

    http://www.revouninstaller.com/

One little note, by all means use the 'Advanced' function (which does a deep scan of your system) but be prepared for it to run for ages (and ages and ages and ages) ...

I've found that the 'Moderate' function is more than adequate and normally finds quite a few leftover registry entries ....

The one thing I particularly like is that it creates a 'System Restore Point' before it starts (saves you having to remember) ;-)

Adding that command seemed to do the trick. Thanks a bunch! Might I ask what that does?

This option disables the low-privilege sandbox for showing web pages,
    which leaves your
computer more vulnerable to flaws or security exploits on those pages.
It is intended for testing purposes only.
It's very important that Google Chrome is not run without the sandbox,
because of the inherent security vulnerabilities in that mode. We're
working very hard to fix the issues some of you are seeing, but in the
meantime, please don't use the --no-sandbox option.

I did and that doesn't make since. The firewall isn't interfering and a reinstall is exactly that...
