While in the process of backing up my PC I decided I should also back up my Chrome bookmarks - especially since I had recently found several great sites on some material I had spent weeks researching and I did not want to lose them. Having been an IE user for many moons (at least since I started doing routine backups), I went looking for a folder called "bookmarks" or a similar file name. After some time of searching, I was unable to find said file, so I did a web search for Google Chrome backup, and found this nifty plug in. Delighted I installed it. I assumed it was created to be a simple back up program for a mid-level user like myself. To my disappointment there was no big red button that said back up bookmarks, (or history or etc) and it appeared I still needed to know what the heck I was looking for before I could back up. I began playing with the program seeing if I could figure out how to get it to do what I wanted. Admitting defeat I went back to the internet to see if I could find more information. To my dismay, not only were my precious bookmarks now gone, so was any history that would help me retrieve them - and my homepage had been reset. In shock and agony, I figured before I did anymore damage I should pull out the big guns - Mr. Computer Science PhD candidate (it is good to have one of those lying around in times like these). His fingers danced across the keyboard for some time, then he shook is head slowly. I knew that was a bad sign. He suggested I post for help (Leo Laporte, you still out there??) Is all my data gone for good, or did the program do good and create a backup somewhere? What the heck did I do wrong/how can I prevent such a tragedy in the future? I would like to play around with the program some more to see if I can undo what I did, but I am afraid of making the situation worse. Suggestions?!? I know my version does not have the same options on it as shown above (I have a button for new profile, add existing, and under tools it has start minimized, run when windows starts and show paths).

Hello

I am in contact with KJCaufield and we are resolving the issue. As soon as we figure out the problem, I'll post it here.

One thing is sure, that I'll soon publish new version with more descriptive and intuitive user interface.

Miha
