I updated today to the newest Beta build. All my extensions stopped working. When I try to add new extensions I get a message that extensions are not enabled in Chrome. I have the proper command line switch fore the Chrome short cut and it worked perfectly until today. When I go into the chrome extensions page it says I have no extensions installed but I do. Anybody else have a problem with the newest Beta update? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Yes as I stated in my post I tried to install some extensions and got a message extensions are not enabled in Chrome. Yes the extension folder is there and my extensions are in it.

For some reason the update has shut off extensions. I have the proper command line switch on the Chrome short cut. I haven't changed anything form the way it was and it was working fine prior to the update. This bug is occurring on 3 different computers and they all started today after I updated to the newest beta.

Are you using the beta version? Anybody else using the beta version that can confirm this? I have one machine with the developer version and it's working fine. Looks like it's just the beta so somebody using the beta will have to confirm if this is happening to them.

I'm using the beta version of Google Chrome. I would assume most here are using the dev version and there doesn't seem to be a problem with that version on the one machine I have it on.

I would suggest running the dev version instead of the beta

I am seeing reports now that the current beta disabled extensions so that explains whats going on.

I don't use the dev version on all my machines simply because I don' like the constant changes. It seems every couple days there is a new version and I have to tweak it all over again. The beta is not too bad for this although this time it was.

settings and preferences are preserved when dev Chrome is updated unless the folders are corrupted

Goto chrome://extensions/ (make sure its world icon to left & not magnifying glass)

Click "load unpacked extension"

Select folder containing extension and click ok

vista: "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions"

xp: "C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions"
