Here is the scenario.

I run a office VPN.

- I open some VNC sessions, VPN client and outlook
- I open chrome and login to google mail
- I open some intranet apps.
Till this point things are fine.
- I try to 'compose' a mail in google-mail.
- google mail hangs, it says loading ... and then still working.. and never recovers
- I see my VNC/VPN sessions are hung, outlook stops responding.
All internet apps seem to be hung now.

- I start firefox
- I open google mail and it seems to work fine from firfox
- However my VPNs/Outlook all are not responding.
- chrome is not responding to any google search/mails/contacts.

After a while I see my internet gets disconn.\

All the above are seen all the time(reproduceable) each time.

If I don;t open chrome and do all the stuff via firefox, system is fine and
responds to internet properly.

My sys: WindowsXP

Do you know whats the problem ? How to fix

i know exactly what you are going through. . . i had the same problem on my dads office computers and after some research i found that google chrome is specifically designed for windows vista or higher. . . thus anyone running XP will lock up the whole system. . . if you dnt want to upgrade to vista then you are stuck with firefox. .. i have vista on my laptop and use google chrome. . .its the best web browser i have ever used and i would recommend it to anyone looking for a simple easy to use browser with amazing features!

I had the same problem exactly. About a week ago Microsoft came out with Internet Explorer 8. I downloaded and installed it and now everything works fine. I am using XP. I also think Chrome is the best browser. I wouldn't be surprised to see a steady increase in Chrome's market share.
