I was using Chrome this morning and it was running just fine and had the appearance of its default theme. I have never downloaded a theme and before I started looking for fixes to my problem didn't even know it had themes.

Probably entirely unrelated but I installed the beta for a game (Final Fantasy XIV) and when I opened Chrome again it was completely different. It's nice blueish color is now gray, the outlines around buttons are now gone, the favorite button moved itself from the right side to the left side.

It's annoying because I liked it how it was and was used to it. I can get used to this if I have to but I have no idea why it changed itself. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, tried searching for answers and have come up empty so I'm posting.

I tried going to the themes page and installing the classic theme and then other themes and restoring to the default but it never goes back to how it was. I'm using Windows 7 and haven't changed any settings. Anybody have any ideas?

Your chrome has updated itself and this is the new look whether you like it or not ;0 (thats the google way...apparently were to dumb for options so its their way or no way)

...but as far as the buttons and what not, thats just the way it is now

I must be one of the very few people who like the gray in the omnibar instead of the previous white!

The previous (blue) theme was nice... but it doesn't compare to this AMAZING new grey look, i LOVE ♥ the new greyish look of Chrome and i want it to be like that

I kinda like the new grey theme, what I dont like is that they removed button_background completely and didnt leave it as an option.
They could have just checked the manifest.json (a file that describes a theme) and if it had a button_background image then use it and if it doesnt then use the new flat look. Some people prefer the more prominent buttons, but as usual Google know best.....bleh
