Hi !

The "-user-data-dir" switch doesn't work anymore with last releases of chromium/chrome beta.

When I use it with new releases, the browser crashes.

This is the error I have in the logfile :

[1117/175916:FATAL:chrome_dll_main.cc(501)] Check failed: PathService::Override(chrome::DIR_USER_DATA, user_data_dir).


Is this a bug or developers disabled this switch ?

I have the exact same problem since version 4... I first got it when trying the beta channel, then rolled back to 3 which fixed it, but now that 4 was officially released I got auto-updated.
I'm on a French OS as well, I had a quick look and the only other pages I found regarding this problem were in Japanese and Russian so could it be a localization problem?

Got it! I had a "é" in the user-data-dir, and there must have been a regression between v3 and v4 that makes it invalid.
