Well, this used computer dad gave me is just weird generally - like when I attempt to open disk C I am asked which program I wish to use to open it. ;-p

Hopefully I could at the very least get some hint on what to try by asking here though.

The problem is this - if I double-click the chrome-icon on the desktop while as a user with administrative privileges, I get this millisecond with the timeglass cursor, and then... nothing.

The same happens if I right click and choose "run as... [user with administrative privileges]".

I am usually happy just using chrome without administrative privileges - but then I can't seem to install the flash plugin.

So, any hints?

How was Chrome installed?

Don't recall, with administrative privileges I guess. If I could have done it without, could that explain it?
