Hi
I know a couple of people both using Windows XP who have not been able to get Chrome to work for weeks, even though the had been using it since shortly after it was released.
I'm using Windows 7 64 bit and it works fine on my computer.
I have worked with one of them and uninstalled and reinstalled it several times even going to the point of manually removing all the folders and Chrome registry entries.
Chrome opens and runs but will not load anything even it's own home page.
I have checked Lan setting and everything else I could find even turned off his antivirus and firewall and it still can't connect to anything.
Nothing has worked and they have had to reluctantly go back to using Thunderbird.
I know that this has happened to a lot of people (I think after an update from Google) I see the posts on multiple forums but I don't see any solutions.
Anyone know what is going on?
Is there anyway to get a stand alone installation of Chrome in an older version instead of it downloading and installing it'self automatically?
Any help welcome.
Mike
