Please excuse the lack of technological wording here.

I've been using Chrome with no problems for ages now. Suddenly, none of my bookmarks (either in the favourites bar or in the bookmarks tab) are showing the website icon, nor is the "new tab" displaying any of my recently visited websites.

I've cleared the History and my computer is "clean" too. I've not downloaded anything dodgy (that I'm aware of) and I use iGoogle for my homepage.

It's not really affecting anything I do on my computer but it means that Chrome isn't working as effectively as it should be doing for me. Does anyone have any "Fix It" ideas please.

What is the version of Chrome that you are running?
Go to the Wrench and select About .........

Hi - I'm running version 3.0.195.32 and no updates are available.

backup the user data and then remove the contents;
fireup Chrome and then close it
restore the necessary backup files to Chrome

I'm really sorry - I'm not entirely sure what you mean
Is this the same as "uninstall" and then "reinstall"?

under WinXP

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default

you can rename User Data to Backup; fireup Chrome and the folder will be recreated
copy bookmarks from Backup to User Data\Default
