Same issue: I attempted to download Chrome many months ago: it never worked at all. I uninstalled it yesterday, and downloaded it fresh. When I open it I get the same message as above. Nothing happens, it just sits there and never loads any page I try to open.

What error message do you get? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling google chrome again?

    Exclamation No error message

I had the same problem a month ago and it continued unchanging for a long time. I tried re-installing Chrome, deleting all Chrome files and then re-installing and finally I re-installed the whole Windows XP.
Chrome worked fine for a week, but today it froze completely again. First I couldn't get youtube videos to work, and then it just froze like before.
It gives no error message. When I lauch Chrome, it just shows a blank page (regardless what page I try) trying to load, but never won't.

I have the same problem - just a page of blank forever, with the little symbol promising something is loading going round and round top right.

I used to spend a lot of time on this forum 'helping' people with their problems ...

The reason I no longer bother is because I got extremely frustrated asking the same 2 questions over and over again ...

If you want to be helped you have to help yourself first ....

The basics are quite simple ....

The OS you are using and the version of Chrome ...

This is one of those awfull problems that can be caused by numerous things and sometimes its not even chromes fault.

The first post makes me think you might want to look at this post.....

Check to see if your proxy settings have been changed....
Click Wrench > Options > Change proxy settings > Your networks name and under Proxy server deselect the first box (use a proxy server...) and see if that makes a difference

Try temporally disabling your firewall and see if it works...if so your firewall has prolly been set to block chrome. In which case you should check with your firewall maker on how to unblock it.

Try disabling DNS pre-fetching as some have cited this as a problem...
Click Wrench > Options > Under the Hood and deselect "Use DNS pre-fetching to...." under Privacy

Try temporally disabling your Anti-Virus....if that makes a difference then please contact the people that made the program about the problem
