I read one here that if I wanted to download most of the plug-ins in the plug-ins section that I needed to download the dev channel of Chrome, but about half through downloading from the link provided I am alerted the download has failed and I am unable to continue. What am I doing wrong?

You can be on either the Beta or Dev channel these days for extensions (plug ins) to work
