Did you run through the Troubleshooting Sticky and see if it helps resolve your issue? It sounds like you either have a conflict with another program (possible security software) or Chrome is just corrupt somehow.

BTW, I don't think you have mentioned the error message you are getting.

There must be something wrong with your system or settings.
I use Chrome as my only browser and it maybe crashed twice on me this year.
Believe you me, I do a lot of browsing, testing, experimenting, extension, user scripts, speed tests, etc...
A lot more stresstesting than the average Joe.
So I insist, your system or other programs must be to blame because Chrome does not crash often.
I am not a blind Chrome fan boy but facts are facts and the Dev version, that I use, has some problems but crashing is certainly not one of them.

    Just my opinion,

    I use Windows XP SP3 32 bit
My machine is equipped with 2 X Xeon Processors (single core)
NVIDIA Quadro FX 4400 video card + calibrated Eizo 21"monitor
    4 GB Memory
    Chrome 3.0.183.1 (Official Build 17570)
I use CCleaner every day to get rid of overhead junk files.
My registry is cleaned every day (Registry Mechanic)
My disk are defragmented every week. (Perfectdisk 10)
Spy and virusscans every week. (AVG Pro & Superantispyware)
I just installed Chrome. I have been using Opera, Firefox and IE just fine so my system is not mis-configured. Roughly twelve hours after installing chrome I got the message that I was low on virtual memory. Strange as I have over 100 gigs of free hard drive space on my main drive.

My machine is running Intel core Pentium M 1.6 ghz processor. 2 gigs of ram. I also run ccleaner nearly daily and have avast for my spyware and virus needs. The bottom line is you are right. The browser should not have crashed five times in the first couple hours I was using it. As you can see I am shopping around for a browser that I like best and I have to say that judging on the first 24 hours I've been using it Chrome is the biggest piece of crap I have ever polluted my hard drive with.

    @trauma

It would help if you were to post what OS you are using and which version of Chrome you installed (and where you got it from)...

As you've only just installed Chrome I'm assuming you have no extensions installed ...

I personally don't have any issues with Chrome ...

I very rarely experienced crashes until I recently got the 6.0.472.51 beta version. Something is very different. Not sure how long I can put up with this.

Same here... this is killing me. Google expects us to use their web-apps but now I cannot get through a document/webpage without a random crash every 30-45 minutes. I am regretfully being forced to go back to Firefox.

    Version 6.0.472.63

I hope they address this shortly.

same here, i even went back to the stable version and it still does it !

my prob happens when i receive an email from a thread i'm subscribed to on a forum and i click it to go see the post and it gives me the "awww snap" error in all opened tabs for this same forum. But if i go to the same forum from a bookmark there's no problem.

it never did that with v3 , v4 or v5.
