    Default Google Chrome keeps crashing

    I'm new to these forums, and I'm sure there is a thread for this somewhere but none of them really answer my question. About every 20 - 30 minutes Google Chrome will just crash (shutdown) on me, no warning, no nothing. However when I reopen it it asks me if I want to resort the pages I was browsing. This is starting to get really annoying, hell I don't even know if I'm gonna be able to get through this post without it crashing. I tried reinstalling it, no luck there. I'm pretty computer illiterate, and don't know what else to try. Please help!

    This must be your system, because crashing is NOT happening since a very long time anymore with Chrome (all versions). I am afraid this will require more than just a Chrome re-install.

    Alright ... so would you know how to fix this or not?

    Welcome to ChromePlugins

    What is the version of Chrome that you are running?
    Go to the Wrench and select About Google Chrome

    What is the version of Operating System that you are running?

    I don't have the stable Chrome in my system;

    if Chrome is still crashing, uninstall Chrome;
    search the Registry for references to Chrome and remove them
    reboot and reinstall Chrome
    or install a different version of Chrome

    Well, I've tried removing it before and reinstalling it, no luck. I went into control panel, and uninstalled it. Do I need to do something else to get it completely off my computer?

    are you comfortable dealing with the Registry ?
    search the Registry for "Chrome" and remove all references to it before reinstalling Chrome;

    and if you are brave, install a different version of Chrome

    Well, I tried that and maybe I shouldn't have, because I know nothing about that kinda stuff. Well atleast I think I did that ...

    Now I have a new problem! I can't download Google Chrome now at all. I get this message everytime I try to download it ...

    Google Update installation failed with error 0x800704c8.
    I need help. My FireFox isn't running to well, neither is my Internet Explore, I like chrome the best.
