Hello,
Is there a way to disable google gears? I don't want the pop ups on every page asking questions.
Thanks, John

Nope, Gears is required for Chrome to run.
What pop-ups are you talking about though? I've never gotten any.

what is google gears?
It's basically an extension for browsers Google designed, there's plugins of it for IE, FF, and more as well.
You can see their about page here as well as links to more information.

Basically gears main purpose was to store things locally and the geo thingie.
Even google are dropping it in favor of html5 databases and localstorage. Plus theres some geo tag thats getting favor over gears.
And to my knowledge you should only be getting alerts asking if its ok to store info/get your location?....so I dont know why your getting them on every page?
Hello,
I told you wrong. I don't get them on every page. I was getting them on the same page every time. Since I don't know what info it wants, I always answer no. If there were an option such as never for this page or always for this page, that would be ok. Since I have just reinstalled Chrome, this has not happened. Thanks for your help.
