Hi everyone,

I've got a problem when I want to install an extension with Google Chrome 4.0.213 : when I drag the crx extension into Chrome's window, it keeps telling me to save the file, instead of launching it, and therefore installing the extension.

Has someone experienced the same issue ?

Where is your download location?

I wanted to install nkGestures, but it failed. So I tried to install an extension (I think it was Click'n'Load, but actually, I tried the first one I saw on Chrome Plugins's homepage) on another computer (which also runs Chrome 4.0.213.1) and the result was the same.

My download location is : E:\Downloads (on my laptop, it's D:\Downloads).

scroll down to downloads

is Ask where to ......... unchecked ?

I am going to stick this post until the next version of dev Chrome is released

I'm running v 4.0.249.78 (36714) and I've tried on 3 machines, XP-Pro, Vista-Business, and Windows 7 Starter.

I can only get extensions (of any kind) to install in the W-7 Starter...

I checked that "Options, under the hood, ask" check box was unchecked or did uncheck & restart Chrome.

any guesses on my "older machines" ?
