    Default NewTab Page - Hidden Bookmarks Bar Showing but Detached

    This is not really a problem for me but just interested as to why it's happening ...

    I very rarely visit the NewTab page and until recently always had my Bookmarks Bar displayed ...

    Today I was checking something out, which included accessing the NewTab page and was surprised to see my Bookmarks Bar displayed, although it was actually detached from the top of the pain and slightly shortened...

    Has this always been there and if so why ?

    Cos someone's bound to ask 3.0.195.4

    Also: CTRL-B has a strange behavior in the NewTab page

    Must be a bug

    i have always had it there, and i guess it is there to access more sites that cannot fit onto the new tab page, also i don't have a strange behavior when i press CTRL+B it just moves up attaching under the omni bar

    I'm almost certain its been like this for a while now, I use the newtab page pretty frequently and have always seen the bookmark bar there. Also CTRL+B toggles the bookmark bar, so it would be silly if the newtab page would show 2 bookmark bars - Google came up with a rather neat way of merging the bar on the page to the GUI itself. I think its pretty cool how that works. I'd love to see extensions possibly be able to do that in the future.

    @Pumpman

    I'm not saying it's strange, I'm saying it shouldn't be there...

    @Kyrax

    I know I can toggle the bookmark bar, which is what I've done ...

    My issue is that the bookmark bar is showing on the NewTab page even though I've got it 'toggled' off

    As for extensions, I did read (somewhere) that a 'toggle' for the toolbar was planned ..

    @StevePaul: It's always been like that ever since Chrome came out.. the toolbar was and is on the new tab page if you have it toggled off.

    Glad I don't use the NewTab page ....

    This would drive me 'crackers' ...

    If you don't want the Bookmarks on your 'normal' pages why would you want them on the NewTab ?

    I'm assuming you got me confused with Kyrax, our names are similar :P

    Anyways the newtab page was designed to give you quick access to the pages you typically goto. I really like the fact that the bookmark bar shows on newtab pages while toggled off. I like the clean look of no bookmark bar, but at the same time like the usefulness of having it available to me when I open a newtab to quickly get to my next page.

    I can see it as a love it hate it feature but its pretty much always been like this.

    @Kryptyx

    Apologies, haven't been to bed for 36 hrs (more now !!)

    I know what the page is about, as I said it doesn't really bother me as I don't use it, just interested in it's origins ...

    Not sure why you'd want to open a new tab then go to a new page, why not just open the page in a new tab ...

    It's even easier now with '--bookmark-menu'
