Came from Firefox to Chrome about a month ago. Would consider myself an advanced technical user. Began to notice some strange behavior during selection with the mouse. When dragging from left to right to select a line of text in an edit box on any site, the text is naturally selected -- until the cursor leaves the box -- at which time the text is no longer selected.

Additionally, if you place the cursor in the middle of a line of text in the edit box, and hold-click then drag up or down, it selects text to the left (on drag up) or right (on drag down). All edit boxes rendered in Chrome do this, regardless of the site. The same sites rendered in FF & IE7 do not exhibit this behavior. Any ideas?

You mean the text cursor or the mouse cursor? For the text cursor this is normal behaviour. For the mouse cursor I do not see this with Chrome 8

You're right, I see this behaviour in Chrome 8 but not in FF 3.6.x
But it doesn't seem to be strange ... It's just different ...
