Default Suggestion in relation to Windows 7

First of all, hi to everyone! Google Chrome rocks as usual

Now to the point. I'm currently testing Chrome on Windows 7 Beta 1 and I think it would be great if there was a way to implement a shortcut to Incognito mode in the Chrome jump list from the taskbar. That way Incognito mode would be just one right-click away...

In the current situation, when I want to open Incognito window, I first have to open a normal window and then open an Incognito.

    Kudos to all,
    Stoiko

    Don't know about Windows 7 ...

But in Vista all you need to do is add -incognito after the chrome.exe on the target in the shortcut tab ...

Right click on your shortcut (or create another) to chrome > properties > shortcut tab

The target will look like this (Steve will be your User folder)

    C:\Users\Steve\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe

Add -incognito after the chrome.exe (be sure to have the space)

    C:\Users\Steve\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe -incognito

This will open Chrome in Incognito mode ....

...also, if you want a direct shortcut to webpage that starts in incognito mode, you can just add the url after the -incognito. Don't forget to put a space in between.

    Example: C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe -incognito www.google.com

    Yeah I know that trick...
I can create an additional shortcut that opens Chrome directly in Incognito, but wouldn't be so much awesome-er for that to be available at right-click on the taskbar icon?

Lol, yes, indeed it would be, but I think Google is more focused on getting plug-ins available and porting Chrome to Mac and Linux rather than Seven.

I don't know. For me, plugins for Chrome conflict with the reason I have for choosing it as my favorite browser. It's lightweight. And I mean super-lightweight. Not so sophisticated and multifunctional, but hey, I always keep IE or Opera around just in case

I do, too. In fact, I updated to IE8 a week ago (LOVE it!). However, I still use Chrome as my primary browser. But, you're right Stoiko, but downloading and installing plug-ins/extensions/add-ons for Chrome is totally optional. And hey, there might even be GUI mods available. So it could still be lightweight, essentially.

Right on! Well, for me, IE8 is too slow, phat and just plain UNcool

A little bit off-topic: have you tried THE ALL-NEW Google Chrome with 3D ?

I find that it is still a little slow, but MUCH faster than IE7. And it looks cooler! But, no I haven't! It sounds awesome, though! How can I get it?!?
