Anyone can confirm this:

When I click on the wrech and select "Import bookmarks and settings" and "Google Toolbar" it imports the "Google Bookmarks" bookmarks (Yeehaw what a "word") to Chrome?!

Here, it worked. I never ever installed Google Toolbar by the way

I don't have Google Toolbar installed so I thought I'd see what happened when I imported from Google Toolbar ...

I actually got 3 Bookmarks that I created from when I was having a play with iGoogle some time ago ...

iGoogle installed .oO .. we'r not hosting Google's webpages.. ?

So what exactly did you 2 get imported, or did it just create a Folder with nothing in it ?

You mean iGoogle.com? I visited the page a couple of times and got blind LOL :-(

But it reminds me of something... I can imagine that it’s some marketing thing. Google doesn’t want to promote Google Bokmarks anymore. There are some services that use Google Bookmarks for saving bookmarks. (That’s what the service is called Bookmarks!)

Probably Google Toolbar was the first service that allowed users to save bookmarks? And Google *maybe* used Google Bookmarks in the background. Later it opened Google Bookmarks to all and then other new "tools" came out... notebook, start page, etc. and Google simply didn’t rename the internal name? But I don’t know ... just some weird fantasy...

Here, it imported Google Bookmarks bookmarks (i start hating the word bookmark) that I saved using Google Bookmarks (and more often using Google Notebook)...

Will be interesting to see what (and where from) Bennl's Bookmarks came from ;-)

Why ?? I confirmed that it was correct, that I got the bookmarks form GOogle Bookmarks too ? So same place I got them from.. .oO
And if you asked how the bookmarks ended on google bookmarks, then it's because of the sync I use in FF, that uses Google Bookmark as storage...
Much more natural that google docs that google has choosen :S
