I have used pc and mac for more than 16 years. I insist it is a good time for google to develop a new and unusual OS. We have worked with windows and hunger for a revolution that can change our IT life in the near future. The ordinary life in the cartoons and movies could come true. Chrome OS may break the Monopoly of Microsoft ,even though Bill Gates does developed a lot.

Why not share out ideas in order to built a real nice and usable OS for us?
any ideas can discuss with me.

I'm pretty sure Chrome OS will be a huge revolution to the OS world, but I don't think it'll be able to surpass Microsoft or Apple.. Just my opinion

As far as I understand, Chrome OS will be a "more or less" WebOS.

So who would seriously want to replace Microsoft Office with some web office application (no uptime guarantee at all). What if the service is down? No way to edit and view documents? Well maybe using Gears.. but’s no solution at all.

And what about the "gamers"? And designers and developers?

Chrome won’t be a replacement for a "standard OS" but maybe a replacement for the OS of the 150 bucks netbook or 250 dollars notebook... but then without a cheap data plan... a "Web OS" would be useless, wouldn’t it?!

But we’ll see when the first Beta comes out :-) Maybe it’s totally different...

Chrome OS is just a beginning. more and more enterprises will develop their own OS, if they see the success of Chrome or another OS. we just need a change, and it is a good time.
u r right it is difficult to replace Windows in recent years, especially windows is good product and improve our-lives a lot.

IMO the OS is only a small part of computing;
without software, an OS is useless regardless of good reviews
