Default Must have 15 posts to post URLs?

I really angry with this report:

You are only allowed to post URLs to other sites after you have made 15 posts or more.
I just want to contribute some my bookmarklet for Chrome.

But I can't post any thing by this rule.

Maybe admin should consider to make this forum more convinence.

Sorry if you angry with me. I just want to earn 1 post.

    Thank you for reading!

Hmm.. Well i would then probably remove this rule. But the thing is that if i dont keep this rule we get a lot of SPAM users..

Perhaps i would start a new thread inviting applications for Forum Moderators..

    Hey Vietnam,

The administrator "Chrome" is right to have this rule. However, maybe 15 posts is a little excussive. I believe that the post count should be atleast 5, this would ensure that spam bots can't post there links becuase they only post one post then leave, however, if you have a post count of 5 this would ensure that your contributing activly and would prove that you're not going to spam.

Forum moderators would be needed, however the lack of activity shown on this site compared to number of members and number of posts being posted, forum moderators are not one of the main things you should be aiming for.

    Thanks,
    Spider.

I take it you are using the 15 post mod?

What you can do is create a new usergroup, and users who have been registered less than 7 days automatically go in to this group. This group you disallow the use of the [ url ] code, so when they posts links it comes out like plain text and not clickable.

It is not a live link, but they are still able to post URL's and Bookmarklet code without errors or warnings. After 7 days, they are automatically promoted in to the next usergroup who can post links.

Spammers can make 15 posts in a minute and then be able to post live links, but using a 7 day time setting spammers will rarely wait for so long.

I hate this "15 posts to post URLs rule"! People here are waiting for new themes to pop up, and I can't post mine because I don't have 15 posts yet.... Well I guess I'll have to wait.

Forget what I said, I think it reduces the amount of spam on the forum.
