To me Google Reader is the fastest, most supported, easiest "cloud computing solution" for RSS feeds.
Plus the number of Userscripts you find on http://userscripts.org/ for Google reader is amazing.
I like to be "on the web" while reading RRS as most contains links that open in a browser anyway. This as opposed to "desktop" solutions"
Plus: http://code.google.com/p/gtools-for-chrome/ really make a difference to subscribe to all or some feeds on the current page.
Did I mention that Google reader was fast?
I used to use the "Sage" extension in Firefox, well I find Google reader much better & faster
