    Default Auto Updating Chrome Plugin

    Hi,

    I have been trying to get my plugin to auto update but I just can't get it to work

    manifest.json
    Code:
    {
       "description": "Switch easily between open tabs by search",
       "name": "TabSearch",
       "update_url": "http://socialf1.com/chrome/tabsearch/updates.xml",
       "permissions": [ "tabs" ],
       "toolstrips": [ {
          "path": "toolstrip.html"
       } ],
       "background_page": "background.html",
       "version": "0.3",
       "content_scripts": [ {
          "js": [ "contentScript.js" ],
          "matches": [ "http://*/*", "https://*/*", "file://*" ],
          "run_at": "document_start"
       }]
    }
    updates.xml
    Code:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <gupdate xmlns='http://www.google.com/update2/response' protocol='2.0'>
      <app appid='aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa'>
        <updatecheck codebase='http://socialf1.com/chrome/tabsearch/tabsearch03.crx version='0.3' />
      </app>
    </gupdate>
    I have replaced my appid with a bunch of "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"s so thats not the problem.

    Can anyone notice something I am not?

    Chrome canīt update if not a new version avaliable

    Installed version != Available version => Auto UPDATE

    Code:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <gupdate xmlns='http://www.google.com/update2/response' protocol='2.0'>
      <app appid='aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa'>
        <updatecheck codebase='http://socialf1.com/chrome/tabsearch/tabsearch04.crx version='0.4' />
      </app>
    </gupdate>

    You have an extra ' in the update_url, should be:
    "update_url": "http://www.test.com/chrome/updates.xml",

    thank you Waha !
    but I think this is not automatic!
    because Users have to menu - tools - Extensions and then click (update Extensions now) and that is not easy for Users!
