Otherwise, you can take a look at my extension http://www.chromeextensions.org/tool...klets-manager/ which provide a configurable popup menu. It show bookmarks/bookmarklets, and you can add custom search engine (match on selected text of the page) in the options page.
I use these ways now and use Cleeki as well, but the way which firefox provides is more convenient for me. I want to make similar seach in Chrome, so that I do not have to add engines manually and do not have to write keywords before search especially when I want to seach something with several search engines.
But the main question is not in existing extension but "how to get some data about added search engines in Google Chrome, from JS code".

Also, is there a way to get access to history (from extension)?
That's something I'd like to know, especially the History part. Is it possible to get the history and drop it down with a page action?

2)Chome not having a drop down arrow on the search bar so you could set the search engine with your mouse, like the firefox searchbar. i know you can type the search engine, but I like being able to select the engine with my mouse in seconds.
Yeah, I hovered between Firefox and Chrome for a while, but then I realised that not only is Firefox old and slow these days, but also the ways we're used to doing things is changing. Chrome's search facility is really cool if you give it a try for a few days, and don't try to make it like another browser. And as for speed; it's actually faster to just type than it is to select with the mouse. One of the things the Chromium/Chrome team are doing is making us see things in a different way. Good thing, too.
