Hi,
We are developing a Google Chrome Extension to capture whole web page as image.
Most of the available Extensions will open a tab/window on the click of a button,where they are showing the captured web page as image(in new html page).And are telling to right click on the image ,select the option
'save image as' & save it.

e.g.

But we want on click of our button to open a 'Savefiledialog' where directly save the present web page as
image. Does anybody have any idea?

as of now extensions cant save files, except for like their config file.. (for security reasons?)

Maybe with an NPAPI plugin? But I wouldn't know how.

Could definately do it with an NPAPI if you knew what you where doing.....which I dont, which is why I asked Orbit Download Managers makers if they could make one for their download manager (they allready integrate with chrome using an NPAPI so surely they could do it).....

....perfect would be something in the extension api, but that would do me in the meantime just fine (ODM is good once you turn a couple of features off)

Tell me please somebody how to make screen capture programmatically or how to find out the solution(Is there way to unpack existing plug-ins). Great thanks in advance.
