Dear fellow developers

I have been working on a plugin called ProxyThisPage which basically opens the same url in a proxied page (e.g. myproxy.me). The new pages, however, have hotlinking protection so that I can't launch them from my extension. I was wondering if there is a way to circumvent this protection.

From what I remember you usually change the referrer in the header, but Im pretty sure you cant do that in chrome.
Maybe you could create a tab that goes to where the form is and then use executeScript to run window.location.href=yourhotlink in it....should have the first page as referrer then, does for a bookmarklet
Or if your desperate open the page with the form, fill it and activate the click event for the button with a script

Thanks for the idea, I think I got it working (couldn't sleep, 5 AM now...) It creates a tab now to their main page and after that updates it to the correct url. No hotlinking message yet so looking good

Edit: Nope didn't work :/
