Seems like a new invention of malicious code. Jokes apart - What plugin were you trying to install and what are the programs you have using to compile it?

For the time being you can restore your system by reverting back t the last known saved configuration. Follow these simple steps -

    1. Restart you system
    2. Press Tab and F10 continuously to get the boot menu
    3. From the boot menu select "last know Good Configuration"
    4. Let the system restart itself in normal mode.

Run a full scan of your system with an updated Antivirus to make sure it was not some Trojan or Malware creating problems with your system. And finally report me back with your updates.
