    Default Need Ad Blocking Extension!

    Hey guys,

Can you recommend a good adblocking extension out there for chrome? I realize that it will be pretty bare and by no means like Firefox's AdBlock Plus, but anything to block ads for me on a website would be great. Also, if I have to edit a text file to add user-defined ads to block that's fine too.

You're a fool if you think I didn't already try that. I hate people like you. I don't mean to cause a flame war here on my 2nd post, but I need to put you in your place.

First of all, don't assume everyone is an idiot right off the bat. If people ask questions here, it's not always because they are to lazy to search first.

Secondly, it's not a good way to greet new members on the forum.

Thirdly, I'm asking for opinions on the best of the available/known adblock extensions for chrome. Extension support is still very young in Chrome, and as such there is not a consensus on which adblock extensions are the most reliable.

I have already done my share of searching and I have come up with many results. However, I am having a hard time picking between those choices. This is why I am posting here. I want to get information from people who have actually used these things and base my decision from there.

I shouldn't really have to explain myself to your "type", but I will anyway. I really tire of repeating myself to every idiot that comes along.

With all that aside, I want to apologize to the community for being rude. I have absolutely zero tolerance for people that make me out to be an idiot. I hope you all understand.

I also want to thank the rest of you that have provided useful information. I really appreciate it!

Thank you for the greeting! By the way, AdBlock+ script works great! I wasn't expecting that a greasemonkey script could do the job

I am having some fun with

Press Alt+B for blocking ads and Alt+U for unblocking. Press Alt+E for editing styles.

    lol

ps I just noticed Alt+U for unblocking

this extension will auto update if a new version is available although it may take a while

    @VP

A simple enough mistake (not a mind reader) and I apologise if it offended you in anyway...

I don't however think I need to be 'put in my place' as 'one of those types'

Perhaps if you had started your thread more succinctly and mentioned you had already searched the forum (and elsewhere)and was looking for guidance as to which of the ones featured here were peoples preference, and why, it may have elicited a more favourable response ...

I'm glad you found the solution you were looking for ...

All the more reason why you should not have said what you said. Assumptions are a big gamble. In any case, apology accepted. I can accept that this was a misunderstanding. No problem

Oh but you did. I have too much pride to allow someone to craft a bad image for me.

I don't have the time nor the willingness to mess with such boilerplate discussion. It's not necessary to mention where I've searched since it has no relevance to the answers I can obtain. For example, if I had said that I searched google, would that have changed your personal opinion of what ad blocking extensions you like? It has nothing to do with the answers I'm looking for. Now if I had asked something like, what are all of the available extensions out there, then it would have been ideal to provide a list of the extensions I managed to find by myself and then have the community add missing items to that list. However, that is not the case here.

And just so you know, a true apology does not use conjunctions nor does it follow up with statements that place blame on the person you are apologizing to. That's a bad apology.

Thanks. And I don't mean to be so harsh/arrogant about this, but naturally I'm a very defensive person. As I said I have no tolerance for this kind of stuff. I asked a simple question and here you are making it all complicated.

I say we put this behind us and just move on. I hate typing long responses that are totally off-topic.

Well, for our foreign visitors here it almost turned into an English lesson ;-)

Btw you should never use 'And' to start a sentence ;-)
