Hi all

I'm developing a project that aims to reorder the output of a google image search according to image analysis of an initial google image search. I have the image analysis tool developed in C++ so I need to link this to the browser using a suitable technology.

I have considered server side technology, but when the project is scaled there won't be enough computing power in the server. The image analysis will be fairly computationally intensive so a plugin should be able to handle it on the client side.

So I am considering having a website where you can download a plugin and have a web page that implements the search that accesses the plugin containing the image analysis software and returns an updated search order.

Anyone got any ideas what technology I should look to implement the website / plugin interface?

A brief look makes me think that npapi may be the way to go. Any ideas?

NPAPI is the only way of having .dll plugins in chrome.
