I notice Google has a nice Gmail checker. It allows users to view how many new emails they have.

I was wondering if a similar "Hotmail checker" is possible?

As far as I know, there isn't an API for Hotmail.
There was talk some time ago (http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/For...5-8bddbfa1c232) but haven't heard about it ever since.

Well according to that link, it sounds like there's a possibility with this.
But I'm not entirely sure I want to figure out how to use that.. :S

I tried to make a Hotmail checker based off of the Gmail check but then soon realized that I was going in the wrong direction.

Hope someone comes up with a brilliant idea!
