Would it be possible to turn a bookmarklet into an extension, with a proper button? I have been trying to do so, but have been unable to, mainly due to my lack of experience with Javascript (I think). Could anyone point me in the right direction?

there are a few extensions that save bookmarklets, basically like a folder, im sure theres atleast one out there that only stores 1 bookmarklet and works directly when pressed
I don't think you get what I mean. I want to make an extension from a bookmarklet. I dont want some extension which can run bookmarklets.
I don't think it should be too hard considering a bookmarklet is just a javascript command afaik, and extensions use javascript I believe.
well yes it is possible then, but why would you want to, as bookmarklets take up virtually no memory to sit there, and extensions do..
unless you plan on expanding apon the code of the bookmarklet..?
just thought it'd be more handy, as i dont like having bookmark bar showing, and with an extension you can get a nice icon and everything. didnt really think about memory usage tbh.
You could allways enable the bookmarks button....

...or use an extension like Bookmarklet Manager.....

...and then you can accesse your bookmarks without the bar
