This little extension checks multiple email accounts, and multiple mail services. It is superior to anything else out there, and any Chrome mail extension. It is an invaluable extension. Could a coder port this so that it works for Chrome?

this is one of the extensions that I use when in Firefox;
maybe could try asking the developer whether he can port it to Chrome
